Position Type:
-Approximately 12-18 hours per week, three month duration (interns may be considered for extended duration if interested)

Internship Intervals:
-February 1st - April 30th (applications accepted November 1st - January 21st)
-August - October (applications accepted May 1st - July 21st)
Position Summary:
As an Intern, you will support our team in facilitating our cleanup and education initiatives, engaging with community volunteers and students, tracking the impact of our organization's operations, and working closely with our team
to implement solutions to plastic pollution and commercial fishing.
Position Responsibilities:
-Support the facilitation of cleanup and education events
-Complete data entry on operations
-Support our mission and strategic plan
Position Requirements:
-Minimum 18 years of age
-Fluent in the English language
-Access to reliable transportation
-Cell phone for communication
-Ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds
-Ability to work in rigorous terrain and unpredictable conditions including rocky coastlines, underwater, and cliffsides
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
-Passionate about environmental preservation
-Willingness to learn, explore new ideas, strategies, and receive feedback
-Interested in learning about plastic pollution, commercial fishing, oceanic conservation, and GPI’s mission and strategy
-Hawaii resident
-Ability to swim and snorkel
