-Part-time (approximately 30 hours per month on an on-call basis, six month minimum duration)

Position Summary:

The Visual Director is a part-time, unpaid volunteer position that supports our mission to build awareness in communities through photography and videography of our cleanup and education events. As a Visual Director you will work closely with GPI’s team to engage with community volunteers at cleanup events and students of all ages in education events; as well as work in remote locations such as isolated coastlines and underwater. This position is ideal for passionate environmentalists and camera enthusiasts who want to commit a few hours per week to documenting the story of our mission to preserve the vulnerable ecosystems of our planet.

Position Responsibilities:

-Attend cleanup and education events; documenting the experience through photos and videos

-Ensure the safety of all participants

Position Requirements:

-A minimum of 18 years of age

-Fluent in the English language

-Access to reliable transportation

-Cell phone for communication

-Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds

-Ability to work in rigorous terrain and unpredictable conditions including rocky coastlines, underwater, and cliffsides

-Ability to swim and snorkel

-Photography and videography experience

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

-Passionate about environmental preservation

-Willingness to learn, explore new ideas, strategies, and receive feedback

-Interested in learning about plastic pollution, commercial fishing, oceanic conservation, and GPI’s mission and strategy

-Hawaii resident

-Owner of your own photo and video camera

Position Summary:

The Cleanup Director is a part-time, unpaid volunteer position that supports the removal of trash from our environment through the facilitation of cleanup events. As a Cleanup Director you will work closely with GPI’s team to engage with community volunteers and existing and new partner organizations; as well as working in remote locations such as isolated coastlines and underwater. This position is ideal for passionate environmentalists who want to commit a few hours per week to working with other nature lovers on the front lines of removing debris from our ecosystems.
